Event Montreal Gala annuel de la Croix Rouge
The Canadian Red Cross is proud to announce that its annual fundraising event, the largest yearly fundraiser put on by the organization in Canada, has raised $1.4 million. Benefitting the Canadian Red Cross’ Emergency Management fund, this amount will be used to prepare for the unexpected while assisting those impacted by disasters across the country.
The 15th edition of this event was held on May 14, 2019, at New City Gas in Montreal with Darryl White, CEO, BMO Financial Group, and Lino A. Saputo, Jr., as Honorary Co-Chairs. Over the years, this annual Red Cross fundraiser has become a major event on the Montreal scene. Since 2005, this gathering has raised over 15 million dollars in support of the Red Cross’ mission: helping those in need when it matters the most.
“Back in 2005, we hoped that this event would become a tradition, similar to many others within the Red Cross Movement. Today, we are pleased to celebrate the 15th anniversary of this charity event. Its ever-growing popularity among the business community is a testament to its commitment to the values of the Red Cross. So, we can now say with confidence: humanitarian mission accomplished!”, says Pascal Mathieu, Quebec Vice President of the Canadian Red Cross.
Whether responding to house fires, winter storms, tornadoes, such as we witnessed in Gatineau and Ottawa last fall, or spring flooding like those still affecting Quebec residents province-wide, the Red Cross teams are there to provide emotional, financial, and material support to those who have been affected and help them get back on their feet. If the volunteers and responders can provide such effective assistance, it is because donors like you have teamed up with them, year after year, in the name of generosity.
